SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On the above date and time, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Shaftsbury Barracks responded to a reported two-car motor vehicle crash with minor injuries. Investigation revealed both vehicles were traveling southbound on US RT 7 at the time of the incident. Operator one was identified as Robbie Peruzzi, 39, and operator two was identified as Annette Morse, 74. Morse was turning left onto School House Road, and Peruzzi was traveling behind Morse. Morse applied the brakes and decreased her speed as she turned onto School House Road. This caused the collision because Peruzzi was not attentive to the maneuver made by Morse. Peruzzi collided with the rear-end of Morse as they turned left onto the road above. The rear-end collision resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, which required the cars to be towed from the scene. Both operators reported minor injuries and were transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for further evaluation.
It was concluded that Peruzzi was following too closely and was not paying enough attention to their surroundings before the incident occurred.
Vermont State Police were assisted by Pownal Rescue Squad, Pownal Fire Department, and Southern Vermont Towing Service.
