SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 09/28/2021 at approximately 1639 hours, Vermont State Police responded to a two car motor vehicle crash on Interstate 89 Northbound at Mile Marker 89 in the town of South Burlington. Troopers arrived on scene and observed one vehicle in the north bound passing lane of the interstate facing southbound and the second vehicle in the median. Investigation indicates that vehicle #1 was traveling southbound on Interstate 89 in the right lane. Prior to the crash, witnesses reported Vehicle #1 was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic. Vehicle #1 ultimately lost control, crossed the median and ended up in the Northbound passing lane with its front end facing the median. The rear end of Vehicle #1 struck the driver’s side rear quarter panel of Vehicle #2 which caused Vehicle #2 to lose control and roll multiple times before coming to rest in the median.
Both Operator #1 and Operator #2 sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to UVM Medical Center.
