Sometimes as can happen as described in the Vermont State Police narrative about a car accident described below a person injured in an auto accident will be transported to a hospital without getting the other driver’s insurance information at the scene of the crash. Usually the investigating police office will follow up with the injured person in the hospital to take a statement and provide the other driver’s insurance information. Many times the at fault driver doesn’t file a claim with their insurance company so the injured person has to file the claim. It’s important to file the insurance claim as quickly as possible after the motor vehicle accident.
