SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On 07/29/2020 at approximately 1135 hours, the Vermont State Police responded to a two vehicle crash near the intersection of VT Route 22a and Doolitle Rd. in the Town of Shoreham. Upon investigation, Troopers discovered Phyllis Hall (75) of Orwell, VT was traveling north VT Route 22a and attempted to turn left into the Shoreham Halfway House Diner. At the same time, Mikhael Yowe (62) of Brandon, VT was travelling south on VT Route 22a. Hall crossed the double yellow line in an attempt to enter the parking lot of the diner without first making sure she could complete the turn safely. Yowe attempted to stop prior to colliding with Hall’s vehicle, however was unable to avoid the collision. It does not appear speeding was a factor in this crash.
Yowe’s motorcycle struck the passenger side of Hall’s vehicle. Yowe suffered multiple injuries and was transported to UVM Medical Center to be treated. Hall was uninjured. Troopers were assisted on scene by members of the Shoreham Rescue and Fire Department, as well as Middlebury Rescue.
