SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On 05/05/2020 at approximately 2245 Troopers from the Vermont State Police were detailed to the area of Ethan Allen Highway (USHY # 7) and Town Hill Rd. for reported traffic crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival to the area it was learned that an unknown male had been struck by a northbound vehicle operated by Arthur Derosia (54) of Swanton, VT.
Preliminary investigation indicated Derosia was traveling northbound at a rate of approximately 50 miles
per hour; the posted speed limit. Derosia struck the unknown pedestrian in the northbound lane of travel. The unidentified male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
It does not appear that speed, alcohol or drug impairment was a factor in this crash. This crash is under investigation, anyone with information regarding this crash should contact the Vermont State Police, New Haven Barracks
Once a positive identification of the pedestrian has been made, an updated news release will be provided.
