Slip and fall, trip and fall and other Vermont premises liability cases on someone else’s property due to a defect, negligent maintenance, or negligent failure to provide notice of hazard on a property are often among the most difficult cases.
However, that does not mean such cases are not viable. I have resolved many cases in which my clients suffered injuries after slipping and falling on ice due to a store owner’s negligence. You can also recover against a homeowner’s insurance company if the homeowner is negligent. Please call me today for a free consultation. My number is [nap_phone id=”LOCAL-REGULAR-NUMBER-1″] and I am available seven days a week.
Here are some things you should do if you are injured after slipping and falling, tripping and falling or are otherwise injured on someone else’s property whether it’s commercial or not.
Be sure to report the injury and how you were injured, to the manager, owner, or employee who works on the property right after you are injured. If an accident report is filled out, request a copy of it.
If at all possible, take pictures of the hazard that caused you to fall. After making sure you are okay, take photos if you can or ask somebody nearby to take a photo for you
Take down the names and contact information of any witnesses who witnessed your fall, or what caused you to fall.
As with any personal injury case in Vermont I represent injured people on a contingent fee basis. That means my attorney’s fee is paid out of the settlement proceeds. If we can’t settle your case you don’t owe me a penny no mattery how many hours I have worked on your case.
