SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On 06/24/2020 at approximately 1032 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash in the area of Vermont Route 103 south of Spring Lake Road in the Town of Shrewsbury.
Preliminary investigation indicated that vehicle #1, operated by Randal Adams age 60 of Cavendish, was traveling northbound when Vehicle #1 crossed the dashed yellow centerline and entered the southbound travel lane where it crashed head on into vehicle #2, operated by Austin Turco age 20 of Mount Holly, VT. Turco was transported to UVM Medical Center with serious bodily injuries. Adams was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Katrina Centariczki age 74, was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries. Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage and were towed from the scene.
The Vermont State Police was assisted on scene by members of the Shrewsbury Fire Department, Regional Ambulance Service, and Turks Auto Body.
